I want to dance my husband does not. So I want to learn to dance but want some one to teach me one on one but cant afford a private instructor. what can I do?

there are group dancing classes. it’s less expensive than with a private instructor.

I’m going to be in NY from october to november, with my wife, which is Venezuelan, and she ask me to take her out to dance some latin music (salsa, Celia Cruz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Oscar D’León, for example), in New York citiy. I suppose there should be some place to take your wife to dance. Please let me know. Thanks in Advance.

Copacabana 34th St and 11th Ave West Side, but aside from the club there’s nothing in the area except a McDonalds.

LQ (Latin Quarter) Lexington Ave and 47th St midtown, in a hotel. I kind of dig this place.

SOB’s (Sounds of Brazil) West Houston St and Varick St. downtown, pretty much a dead area of town. They serve great food and live music often. Get there early.

There are a variety of Latin Clubs along Roosevelt Ave in Jackson Heights, Queens.

These are true Latin Clubs, not the whitewashed version you’ll find in Manhattan. The Manhattan Clubs are filled with Caribbean Latinos and other people who think that all Latinos are Puerto Rican or Dominican.

The Jackson Heights clubs are mostly Colombian, Ecuadorian, Venezuelan and Peruvian. A few Mexican places have opened up in the last few years also.

Take the #7 train and get off at 74 St and walk along Roosevelt Ave until 90th St. DO NOT go past 100th St. It’s a bit dangerous.

Roosevelt Avenue is not exactly extremely safe, but it’s lots of fun. It’s the new capital of Latin America, overtaking Miami.
